Enemy Mine - Classic 1985 film starring
Dennis Quaid and
Louis Gossett Jr. I hadn't seen this until now and after 22 years it seems still like a worthy film. Man is at war with a lizard like race. Quaid is chasing Gossett Jr through the atmosphere of a planet, they crash and have to learn to survive together or die alone. Great story, good acting, bad effects, though you can't expect much for special effects from 1985. Anyway, everyone should own this movie. It shows that we should all learn to get along with our fellow man and who knows, someday, maybe even other species.
Mrs Henderson Presents -
Judi Dench and
Bob Hoskins star. Story about, duh, Mrs Henderson. Her rich husband has died and she wants to spend his money in a useful way. She opens a Nude dancing girls theater for the troops as they come home on leave from the war. Decent story but nothing spectacular. Kind of fun though and worth the watch. Rent it.
Smokin' Aces - Not as good as I had hoped. And by good I mean, more action, shooting, killing. There was a lot of this but the story wasn't good enough to keep everything going in between. Skip this one altogether.
